Melissa Ezechukwu, Digital Consultant

About me

I'm a digital strategist and consultant with over 17 years’ experience, predominantly in the tech-for-good space.

My journey began managing online communications and delivering digital projects for some of the UK’s leading businesses and charities, like Butlins, Mothercare, Action for Children, and MSI Reproductive Choices. Later I moved agency-side to broaden my impact, leading digital strategy workshops and helping hundreds of charities to transform their digital presence and services.

In 2020, I took the leap to independence as a freelancer, eventually founding my own company, MDE Digital. As an independent consultant I’ve been privileged to guide a wide range of organisations on their digital transformation journeys, delivering insights, driving results and helping to shift perspectives.

This includes redesigning customer journeys for Surrey County Council; helping the Health Foundation redevelop their community platform; carrying out data analysis for the Royal Free Hospital Charity; running user research and content testing for NHS Providers; and exploring AI opportunities and process improvements for a leading media organisation. I also collaborate with other freelancers and agencies, including acting as an associate for digital design agency, William Joseph.

Beyond my day-to-day work, I'm particularly passionate about creating a more inclusive and equitable tech sector. I mentor women in tech, speak about digital diversity and my journey in the sector, and serve as Digital Trustee for International Broadcasting Trust.
